Minimum standards for energy efficiency have been in place since 2004 in various transitional forms. In May 2008 the State Government introduced additional energy efficiency requirements for the Victorian housing industry to ensure that all new alterations, additions and relocated dwellings achieve a 5-Star standard. The 5-Star standard is applicable to all Class 1 and 2 buildings in Victoria. Energy Ratings are now called Thermal Performance Assessments and Energy Raters are known as Thermal Performance Assessors. Kate Edwards and staff have been providing energy ratings and thermal performance assessments since they were first required for houses in 2004. We are accredited to use FirstRate 4 and FirstRate 5 energy rating software. Kate has assessed many hundreds of projects, and works with clients to achieve the best possible outcome within the fastest turnaround time. As well as conducting thermal performance assessments, Kate also provides a consultancy service to assist at the design stage.
